Coordination meetings: February and March
The Canary and Bali teams had some extra meetings (26th of February and 25th of March 2022) in order to advance on the Bali STARS training. It supports the practical arrangements. And helps a lot with checking that we are “on the same wave”. For example, the March meeting was very enriching when clarifying the Balinese colleagues´ doubts about the non formal education methodology.

Project kick off meeting
After several previous meetings held online while waiting for the pandemic to calm down, on the 13th of January 2022 – yuhuu! – we had our official STARS kick-off meeting. The smiles say it all. 😊 We had to change a bit the initial plan. Instead of meeting in person in the Solomon Islands, we did it online. Multiple other modifications to be requested to the European Commission were discussed as well. The KEY WORD of the project at the moment definitely is ADAPTATION.

The long way until… STARS
Little did we know about the upcoming challenges worldwide when preparing the project proposal in late 2019… Emails, many whatsapps and video calls have helped us to keep safe, patient and hopeful. Open air activities that empower young people are needed now more than ever. Actually, the time waiting for the world pandemic to calm down has also served to spread the word about STARS project even before it´s official start. Thank you “Erasmus+” programme of European Commission for supporting our STARS!
